As a retail representative, your main focus will be on developing not just satisfied customers, but enthusiastically satisfied customers, and not just some of the time, but all of the time. That is your number one priority!
You will be expected to welcome all customers and make an attempt to connect with them. While you are doing this, your main focus is to determine the customer’s needs.
When it is appropriate, the retail representative should suggest products to customers with the goal of enhancing Zest Bakery’s overall service to the customer and also helping to meet the company’s sales goals.
Shift available is Tues-Thurs 6:30am-12:30pm, Friday 12:00pm-7:00pm, pay rate starts at $9/hr
Note: This position has potential to perform kitchen activities including baking and training with demonstrated skill, knowledge, and enthusiasm.
Requirements:
- Prior retail and sandwich preparation experience is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Must be able to multi-task and show enthusiasm for the job
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
- Strategically manage time and daily schedule to meet the needs of the customers and fulfill position expectations and responsibilities
- Punctuality is a must
Responsibilities:
- Answer phones, take complete/accurate customer orders
- Ensure the front of the house is clean during business hours, including mopping, sweeping, and wiping down surfaces and equipment
- Maintain the bathroom during business hours including emptying trash if necessary and restocking paper/soap
- Prepare and serve beverages, including tea and coffee
- Prepare sandwich orders
- Communicate with the kitchen staff when the display case is low on items
- Maintain a commitment to consistently provide friendly, knowledgeable service to our customers
- Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems within scope
- Handle customer feedback or elevate to management, as appropriate-
- Participate in staff meetings to drive continuous improvement
- Perform after-hours activities including washing dishes, properly wrapping and storing baked goods, if required, taking out the trash/recycling, wiping down coffee machine and kitchen equipment, if necessary.
